Basketball Game Preview: Southern Wake Academy Lions vs. Clover Garden School Grizzlies

Southern Wake Academy and Clover Garden School are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Southern Wake Academy Lions will welcome the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Southern Wake Academy duked it out withTriangle Math & Science on Friday. Southern Wake Academy breezed by Triangle Math & Science to the tune of 80-22. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Tigers are ranked 612th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clover Garden School blew past Ascend Leadership, posting a 65-36 win.

Clover Garden School has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Southern Wake Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Southern Wake Academy against Clover Garden School when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 82-44 win.
