Volleyball Recap: Whitfield Falls to MICDS in First Game of Season

Whitfield had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the MICDS Rams on Wednesday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Rams when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-4, 25-21.

Emerson Sehy paced Whitfield's offense, picking up four kills. Sehy were helped by Gabi Gutierrez and Layla Gammage, who contributed four assists each. Finally, Sophia Beuc kept Whitfield's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

MICDS' win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Whitfield will head out on the road to face off against Parkway North at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. MICDS has already played their next matchup (against Clayton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
