The Simeon Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Sunday after their third straight loss. They took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thornton. Simeon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Thornton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Dijiona Berrien and Gabryelle Howard certainly did their best on Sunday to try and avoid the loss. Berrien scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Howard scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Berrien scored a full 27.5% of Simeon's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Simeon now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Thornton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simeon will take on Phillips at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thornton, they will be playing at home against Kankakee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kankakee is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
