Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Auburn Mountainview

Auburn Mountainview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Beamer Titans get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

McKenna Ward made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Ward was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Heigh, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Melanie Duran also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Auburn Mountainview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Auburn Mountainview pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Beamer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
