Zach Filip had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 145 yards and two scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Those 145 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Rye faced Somers in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Garnets put the hurt on the Tuskers with a sharp 40-17 win. Considering the Garnets have won eight contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rye's win came from a few key players Minisink Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Miller, who rushed for 87 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 347 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 17.4 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (221 yards to be exact) went to Henry Shoemaker, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
