Softball Recap: Munford Find Success

After losing to Ohatchee the last time they met, Munford decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Munford Lions walked away with a 5-2 win over the Ohatchee Indians on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Brooklyn Pressley (2027) made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Addyson Britt (2027) was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Raleigh Dew (2025) also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Munford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Munford's record is now 4-1. As for Ohatchee, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Coming up, Munford will be taking part in a tournament against Jacksonville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Munford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Ohatchee, they will take on Prattville Christian Academy in a tournament on Saturday.
