Baseball Recap: Lyford Gets the Win

Lyford won the last time they faced Rio Hondo and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-2 win over the Bobcats.

Riley Reyna made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Diego Medina was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Dylan Busse, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Lyford's record now sits at 9-11-1. As for Rio Hondo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Lyford will venture away from home to take on Santa Rosa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Hondo, they will host Los Fresnos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight.
