Volleyball Game Preview: St. Laurence Vikings vs. Stagg Chargers

The St. Laurence Vikings will square off against the Stagg Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Laurence is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hinsdale South just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Laurence sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 21-25, 25-16.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Matthew Suchecki, who had 15 assists.

Meanwhile, Stagg didn't have quite enough to beat Lockport on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Porters recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Stagg started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-29, 25-23, 25-18.

Stagg's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for St. Laurence, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
