Football Game Preview: Riverdale Ridge Ravens vs. Thomas Jefferson Spartans + Official Tickets

The Riverdale Ridge Ravens will take on the Thomas Jefferson Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale Ridge will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Riverdale Ridge had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 29-point drubbing they dealt Grand Junction Central on Thursday. The Ravens claimed a resounding 42-13 victory over the Warriors. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Ravens' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Warriors are ranked 109th).

Special teams played a big role in the game for Riverdale Ridge, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dean Presswood, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Riverdale Ridge's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Thomas Jefferson's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The matchup between the Spartans and Montbello didn't end well, with the Spartans falling 35-19.

Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Riverdale Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.

Riverdale Ridge lost to Thomas Jefferson on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Thankfully for the Ravens, Jake Tapia (who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
