Volleyball Recap: La Salle Institute Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

La Salle Institute waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Watervliet Cannoneers with a sharp 3-0 win.

La Salle Institute walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 25-19.

La Salle Institute can attribute much of their success to Alaina Winther, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Winther has posted since back in September.

Winther wasn't the only good servers: La Salle Institute was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive matches.

La Salle Institute's record is now 19-7-2. As for Watervliet, their loss ended a nine-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4.

Looking ahead, La Salle Institute will take on Schalmont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Watervliet does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
