League recap: Deshler gets lift from Cantrell's big bat

Justin Cantrell was on fire this week, as he led 4A Area 16 with a .571 average, one home run and four RBIs. His Deshler team went 0-0.

Central went from 3683 to 3566 in the national rankings since last week after going 1-2 in the past seven days. The Wildcats are currently No. 110 in the Alabama state rankings, with an overall record of 22-23.

The Tigers' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 19 hits and seven walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, Deshler has allowed just 230 hits, while striking out 252 batters. Jesse Sockwell leads Deshler with 56 strikeouts in 62 innings pitched.
