Volleyball Game Preview: Edwardsville Tigers vs. Belleville West Maroons + Official Tickets

Edwardsville has gone 8-2 against Belleville West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Maroons at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Edwardsville took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over East St. Louis.

Edwardsville easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-8.

Savannah Ford was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 assists and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eve Eberlin, who had seven digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, Belleville West beat Collinsville 2-0 on Tuesday.

While Belleville West won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-10.

Edwardsville's record now sits at 22-11. As for Belleville West, their record is now 14-19.

Edwardsville skirted past Belleville West 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
