Soccer Game Preview: Reading vs. Madison

The Reading Blue Devils will face off against the Madison Mohawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Reading's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Madison has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Reading will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Wyoming, who they had gone 0-7-2 against in their nine prior meetings. The Blue Devils walked away with a 4-2 win over the Cowboys on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Reading were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Madison's offense. They came up short against Oakwood on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Madison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Oakwood are ranked 33rd).

Reading's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Reading beat Madison by a goal in their previous meeting back in September of 2020, winning 2-1. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mohawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
