Volleyball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Monticello and Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Sages fell 2-0 to the Knights on Saturday. The Sages were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Monticello still got an impressive performance from Mady Melton, who had 14 digs and one assist. Melton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-9.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on the 12th. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Blue Ridge on the 14th.
