Soccer Game Preview: Tunkhannock vs. Lakeland

The Tunkhannock Tigers will take on the Lakeland Chiefs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tunkhannock has four straight wins, Lakeland has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Thursday, Tunkhannock made easy work of Berwick and carried off a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Tunkhannock, who have now won ten matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Lakeland's offense. They lost 7-0 to West Scranton on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Lakeland have lost by exactly seven goals.

Tunkhannock's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Tunkhannock came up short against Lakeland in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, falling 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
