Basketball Game Preview: Rio Vista Eagles vs. Meyer Ravens

Rio Vista is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Meyer is on a ten-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Rio Vista Eagles take on the Meyer Ravens at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Rio Vista came up short against Itasca and fell 45-38.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Anthony Zepeda, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Ashton Huey, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Meyer took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-46 victory over Itasca. The Ravens have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meyer's win bumped their record up to 25-3. As for Rio Vista, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
