Recap: Orr Spartans vs. Clark Eagles
The matchup between the Orr Spartans and the Clark Eagles on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. Orr was dealt a 73-45 defeat at the hands of Clark. While losing is never fun, Orr can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Clark is ranked 221st).
Despite the loss, Orr still got an impressive performance from Malik Meridy, who scored 22 points. The contest was Meridy's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Burks, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Orr bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clark, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Orr will head out on the road to face off against North Grand at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Grand is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Clark won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southland College Prep at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th.
