Softball Recap: Eastern Hills Comes Up Short

Eastern Hills extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-10. They lost 31-8 to the Dunbar Wildcats. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 22-9.

Dunbar's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Dunbar's part, Janya Justice was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with eight stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those eight stolen bases gave Justice a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Treniti Moss, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eastern Hills will square off against rival Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dunbar is set to face off against their familiar foe Benbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
