Baseball Game Preview: Arlington Memorial Eagles vs. Proctor Phantoms

The Arlington Memorial Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Proctor Phantoms at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arlington Memorial is looking for their season's first victory.

Arlington Memorial had taken Leland & Gray down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Proctor sidestepped Poultney for a 6-5 win. The six-run effort marked the Phantoms' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Isaiah Fernandez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Brayden Cannucci also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Proctor and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Arlington Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Arlington Memorial might still be hurting after the 12-4 defeat they got from Proctor in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
