Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

St. Laurence lost against Lincoln-Way East back in October of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vikings fell 2-0 to the Griffins. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Aubrey Martinez paced St. Laurence's offense, picking up nine kills. Martinez got some help from Keely Bowen and her 19 assists. Martinez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Lincoln-Way East can attribute much of their success to Maggie Simon, who had 15 assists.

St. Laurence's defeat dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Lincoln-Way East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

St. Laurence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Lincoln-Way Central on the 18th. As for Lincoln-Way East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against St. Charles North on the 18th.
