Highland Prep West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Red Rock, who was ranked 12th at the time (Highland Prep West was ranked second). The HORNETS came out on top in a nail-biter against the Scorpions on Thursday, sneaking past 2-1.

VanMichael Smith was the driving force of Highland Prep West's attack as he scored both of Highland Prep West's goals, bringing his season total up to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Payson kept a clean sheet against North Valley Christian Academy on Wednesday. They blew past the Lions 4-0. The result was nothing new for Payson, who have now won seven matchups by four goals or more so far this season.
