Huntingtown dropped their record down to 12-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Northern Patriots by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hurricanes have suffered since April 6, 2024.

As for Northern, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

For Northern's part, Dylan Rice was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor Renzi, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Huntingtown is set to challenge their familiar foe Chopticon on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hurricanes 2.3, the Braves 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Northern will face off against rival La Plata at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Warriors a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
