West Ranch and El Segundo squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but West Ranch had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

West Ranch took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-21, 24-26, 22-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Noah Douphner paced West Ranch's offense, picking up 33 kills. Douphner got some help from Jackson Manansala and his 32 assists.

West Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 30-6. As for El Segundo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

West Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Segundo, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against St. Francis on the 7th.
