Basketball Game Preview: Independence Falcons vs. McClymonds Warriors

The Independence Falcons will take on the McClymonds Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Independence is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Last Wednesday, Independence escaped with a win against Shafter by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Matt Riggio and Davian Leon were among the main playmakers for Independence as the former went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, McClymonds suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They came up short against Ygnacio Valley, falling 75-53. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

Independence pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for McClymonds, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
