Football Game Preview: Cocoa Tigers vs. Rockledge Raiders + Official Tickets

The Cocoa Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Rockledge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockledge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cocoa, who comes in off a win.

Cocoa is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Astronaut 38-3 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Champ Smith went supernova, throwing for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (171.1). Javeon Scott helped Smith out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Meanwhile, Rockledge came up short against New Smyrna Beach on Friday and fell 31-21.

The victory got Cocoa back to even at 4-4. As for Rockledge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Cocoa against Rockledge in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 37-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
