Baseball Recap: Worthington Kilbourne Comes Up Short

Worthington Kilbourne lost against Thomas Worthington back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolves fell just short of the CARDINALS by a score of 5-4.

Dante Pallante was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Jacob Caviness made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Cam Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Worthington Kilbourne's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Thomas Worthington, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Worthington Kilbourne will challenge St. Charles at 2:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Thomas Worthington, they will take on Grove City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
