Baseball Game Preview: Brown County Eagles vs. Edgewood Mustangs

Brown County hasn't had much luck against Edgewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Brown County has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brown County came up short against Bloomfield on Monday, falling 20-7.

Barrett Lasley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was RJ Reeves, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Edgewood didn't have quite enough to beat Bedford North Lawrence on Friday and fell 3-2. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Stars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Edgewood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Arthur, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Brown County's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Brown County suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Edgewood in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
