Soccer Game Preview: Hillsboro vs. Wesclin

The Hillsboro Hilltoppers will head out on the road to challenge the Wesclin Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

On Monday, Hillsboro didn't have quite enough to beat Carlinville and fell 3-2. Hillsboro have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Aubrey Huber wasn't going to let Carlinville walk away unscathed as she scored both of Hillsboro's goals, bringing her season total up to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Wesclin came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Orphans a 3-0 shutout.

Hillsboro now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Wesclin, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Hillsboro might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Wesclin in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
