Basketball Recap: Ascension Classical Drops Season-High Score on Open Door Christian Academy

Open Door Christian Academy kept up with Ascension Classical until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Admiral were the clear victors by a 32-12 margin over the Conquerors. The Admiral's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kirsten Kay was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Williams, who posted four points and six boards.

Ascension Classical's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Open Door Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Ascension Classical will challenge Bishop Noland Episcopal Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Open Door Christian Academy, they will square off against Word of God Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
