Baseball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Red Raiders vs. Mountain View Eagles

Blue Ridge hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Raiders will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Blue Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Forest City as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Mountain View beat Carbondale Area 9-6 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won five in a row.

Jordan Jagger and Josh Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Jagger went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Miller went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Miller has posted since back in April. Connor Boylan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mountain View now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Blue Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

Blue Ridge might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Mountain View in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
