Basketball Recap: Forney Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Forney can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They wrapped up 2024 with a 46-32 victory over the Nimitz Vikings. Given the Jackrabbits' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Vikings are ranked 1162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Forney's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Nimitz, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forney will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tyler Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Nimitz, they will square off against Lake Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nimitz is facing Lake Highlands at the right time seeing as Lake Highlands is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
