Picayune took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Pascagoula by a score of 6-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Parker Helton made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Helton was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Justin Stockstill, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Landon Franklin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, West Harrison fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against George County on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 7-6. The Hurricanes' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.
Picayune's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Both Picayune and West Harrison just can't seem to miss. Picayune has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like West Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
