Volleyball Game Preview: McKenzie Eagles vs. Mohawk Mustangs + How To Watch

McKenzie is 2-8 against Mohawk since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

McKenzie took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Mannahouse Christian Academy with a sharp 3-0 win. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season.

If Eddyville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mohawk, they should've done a better job of containing Bellece Bendix. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Bendix, who had 17 digs and five aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 12 times she's played.

While Mohawk won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 26-24.

Mohawk is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for McKenzie, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

McKenzie might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Mohawk in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
