Basketball Game Preview: Alexandria-Monroe Tigers vs. Madison-Grant Argylls

The Alexandria-Monroe Tigers will square off against the Madison-Grant Argylls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alexandria-Monroe is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Alexandria-Monroe is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since November 26, 2024 last Thursday. They fell just short of Taylor by a score of 50-47. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 16-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Madison-Grant had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 82-40 win over Muncie Burris. The Argylls' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Madison-Grant has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. Alexandria-Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Alexandria-Monroe came up short against Madison-Grant in their previous meeting back in February, falling 70-65. Can Alexandria-Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
