Softball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West Victorious

Morristown-Hamblen West barely beat Jefferson County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans came out on top against the Jefferson County Patriots on Thursday by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won nine in a row.

Briony Bunsic made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Bunsic was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kara Dyke, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cadence Beaver, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Morristown-Hamblen West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
