Baseball Game Preview: St. Anne's-Belfield Saints vs. Trinity Christian Gryphons

The St. Anne's-Belfield Saints will square off against the Trinity Christian Gryphons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

St. Anne's-Belfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Collegiate, who was ranked 23rd at the time (St. Anne's-Belfield was ranked first). The Saints won by a run and slipped past the Cougars 5-4.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian posted their closest victory since May 2, 2025 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Immanuel Christian, sneaking past 9-7. The Gryphons haven't had any issues with the na recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Evan Davis looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaac Norman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Trinity Christian: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Bradley Schroeder was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Trinity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, their win bumped their record up to 17-2-1.

St. Anne's-Belfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 10-5. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gryphons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
