Football Recap: Elba Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Elba extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a blow against the Goshen Eagles, falling 48-21. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.

Despite the loss, Elba still got an impressive performance from Cassidy Carpenter, who rushed for 134 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Carpenter's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

As for Goshen, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Goshen can attribute much of their success to Grant Taylor, who rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 45 yards and a pair of TDs. JaDarius Burney was in the mix as well, providing the Eagles with two scores.

Looking ahead, Elba will host Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elba will be up against Red Level's rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Goshen, they are taking a road trip to square off against Barbour County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
