AAAAA Region 2 recap September 10, 2013
Lakeside moved up to 114 from 188 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 2. The Panthers were able to make move up by besting Thomson 23-14.
Greenbrier fell to North Augusta 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jamal Richard was a bright spot for the Wolfpack, as he ran for 39 yards in the defeat.
Richard provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Greenbrier fell to the Yellowjackets.
Richard was the best running back in the league this week.
Josh Smith was the best receiver in the league this week as Kevin Hunt's team lost to North Augusta.
A big matchup in AAAAA Region 2 this week will be when Northside takes on Houston County. The Patriots are in second place, while the Bears are in sixth place.
Lakeside made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,970 from 4,634. The improvement came about via a 23-14 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
