Volleyball Game Preview: Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats vs. Ansley/Litchfield Spartans

The Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats will face off against the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Exeter-Milligan/Friend sitting on nine straight victories and Ansley/Litchfield on four.

Sutton came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Exeter-Milligan/Friend, but Taylin Schluter wouldn't allow it. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-2 with plenty of help from Schluter, who had 29 digs and four aces. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Exeter-Milligan/Friend got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-15, 20-25, 15-5.

Meanwhile, Ansley/Litchfield made easy work of Maywood/Hayes Center on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 25-14.

Exeter-Milligan/Friend better focus on containing Garittee Smith and Ava Paitz as the pair were huge in Ansley/Litchfield's win. Smith had 21 digs and four assists, while Paitz had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces Paitz has posted since back in October.

Ansley/Litchfield's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, their win bumped their record up to 25-5.
