Basketball Recap: Word of God Academy Comes Up Short

The Word of God Academy Force didn't have quite enough to beat the ARC Academy Warriors on Tuesday and fell 50-47. The Force have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Word of God Academy lost, don't look at Tina Guardado. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 42.6% of the Force's points, marking the seventh time in a row Guardado has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brynn Jordan, who had seven points along with nine boards and three steals.

Word of God Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for ARC Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Word of God Academy will venture away from home to face off against Claiborne Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for ARC Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brighton at 1:00 p.m. on the 13th.
