Canon City hasn't had much luck against Pueblo County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.

Canon City came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Pueblo East, falling 49-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since October 11, 2024.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Noah Pavlicek, who picked up 108 receiving yards and three TDs. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending three passes. Trey Schumacher was another key passer, throwing for 188 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Pueblo County took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Pueblo Central. Considering the Hornets have won five games by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Pueblo County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. However, it's not like Pueblo County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 265.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Canon City came up short against Pueblo County when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 28-21. Thankfully for the Tigers, Patrick Noga (who rushed for 128 yards and three scores on only eight carries, and also picked up 93 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
