Softball Game Preview: Montini Catholic Broncos vs. Mother McAuley Mighty Macs

The Montini Catholic Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Montini Catholic beat Waubonsie Valley 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Mother McAuley nor Benet Academy made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Mighty Macs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Redwings 4-2.

Mother McAuley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Montini Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Montini Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Mother McAuley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
