Basketball Game Preview: Newark Charter School Patriots vs. Conrad Science Red Wolves

The Newark Charter School Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Conrad Science Red Wolves at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Newark Charter School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 73-69 to Appoquinimink. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (60), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Conrad Science came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 68-52.

Newark Charter School dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Conrad Science, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Newark Charter School came up short against Conrad Science in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 67-58. Can Newark Charter School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
