Basketball Game Preview: Windward Wildcats vs. Brentwood School Eagles

The Windward Wildcats will face off against the Brentwood School Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Windward knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Brentwood School likes a good challenge.

Windward is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 13, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Crossroads, sneaking past 57-55. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Roadrunners are ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Brentwood School had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They managed a 50-46 victory over the Vikings. The 50-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Brentwood School is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Windward, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Windward was able to grind out a solid victory over Brentwood School in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 77-66. Will Windward repeat their success, or does Brentwood School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
