Volleyball Recap: Fulton Starts Season with Loss at Home

Fulton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Homer Trojans on Thursday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Fulton was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-21.

Fulton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mylah Dempsey, who had nine digs and three aces, and Claire Dempsey, who had 14 assists and seven digs.

Fulton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oswego at 7:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Homer, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Westhill at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
