Salesian College Preparatory took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hercules, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Salesian College Preparatory Pride had just enough and edged out the Hercules Titans 4-3 on Monday. This was payback for the Pride, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Joe Tarin, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Junior Rodriguez, who got no hits from his two at bats.

Salesian College Preparatory's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Hercules, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-4.

Coming up, Salesian College Preparatory will square off against Justin-Siena at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
