Flag Football Recap: Whitewater Beats East Coweta for Their Third Straight Win

Whitewater won against Northgate last Tuesday with 13 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Wildcats beat the East Coweta Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-6. The win was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Jaelyn Stanley looked great while leading her team to the win, rushing for 65 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 176 yards on 12 of 25 attempts. Those 65 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

Whitewater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Lynn Thompson picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Whitewater's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for East Coweta, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Whitewater didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-6 win against Central on the 21st. As for East Coweta, they will face off against McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs' defense has only allowed 6.2 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them.
