Basketball Recap: Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons vs. Orangewood Academy Spartans
The Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons struggled with threes on Wednesday (the Orangewood Academy Spartans had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pacifica Christian/Orange County took a serious blow against the Spartans, falling 61-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pacifica Christian/Orange County has scored all season.
Lauryn Ham and Caylie Villagrana certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Ham scored nine points, while Villagrana scored two points along with six rebounds and three steals. Villagrana is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orangewood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alissa Belen, who scored 11 points. Maria Mejia was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Pacifica Christian/Orange County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-8 record this season. As for Orangewood Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-6.
