Softball Recap: Warwick Wildcats vs. Beacon Bulldogs
Warwick gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Beacon Bulldogs a 20-0 shutout.
Olivia Martino made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Martino was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Camryn Moore was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Etta Garofalo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Warwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beacon only posted an OBP of .105.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warwick will face off against Newburgh Free Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beacon, they will challenge New Paltz at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
