Volleyball Game Preview: Osceola Bulldogs vs. Howells-Dodge Jaguars

The Osceola Bulldogs will face off against the Howells-Dodge Jaguars at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Howells-Dodge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Osceola, who comes in off a win.

Osceola can't be too worried about heading out to take on Howells-Dodge: they just beat High Plains at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Storm by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

The final score came out to 27-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Howells-Dodge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to North Bend Central.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: North Bend Central scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Howells-Dodge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brynn Throener had 11 digs.

Howells-Dodge's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Osceola, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.

Osceola suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Howells-Dodge in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
